How Bike Share Works

Unlike bike rental, an Austin BCycle is there when you need it, 24/7/365. Bike share is economical and convenient, designed for those trips that are too far to walk but too short to drive. With an Austin BCycle you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot or thieves stealing your bike. The only thing you have to worry about is the time you'll save getting from A to B. As a member, you can use a BCycle to run an errand, grab lunch, travel from the bus stop to your office, or just get some fresh air. There are as many reasons to use a BCycle as there are members!

1. Purchase an Austin BCycle Membership or Pass

You can purchase a membership or pass through these options:

  • Visit the Join Now page to purchase a membership online
  • Download the BCycle App and follow the in-app instructions

2. Check out a bike

Use the BCycle app on your mobile phone to locate a bike and checkout it out.

3. Have fun riding!

Depending on your membership or pass level a certain amount of time is included with each ride. All levels EXCEPT Single Ride include an unlimited amount of rides.

  • Click HERE to get details on membership and pass levels
  • These bikes are part of shared system, if you need to make a stop lock the bike and then you are able to re-rent that bike or another one nearby when you are ready

4. Lock-up your bike

Lock your bike to any of the Domain BCycle red racks with available space.

  • Pay an extra $3 to lock your bike anywhere within the service area
  • All bikes must be locked within the service area, the outline around The Domain campus to avoid a retrieval fee of $75

5. Repeat

Most membership and pass levels include an unlimited amount of rides, so feel free to ride as long as you have active access!

  • Any ride lasting longer than 60 minutes will charged $4/30minutes
  • Each time you check-in your bike, it resets your clock
